Music is an essential part of the ministry of Community Baptist Church. The Psalms often refer to God’s people singing a “new song” or the “Lord’s song.” At Community, we emphasize the importance of music as an act of worship, bringing the Lord a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving each week as we gather in His presence. Our goal is to provide music that is vibrant, purpose-driven and focused above, so that God’s people might be appropriately led in worship in the house of the Lord.

Music ministries at Community Baptist Church:
The Sanctuary Choir sings in each of our Sunday morning and evening worship services. They play an important role of leading the congregation in singing at each service. This choir also has the privilege of preparing outreach concerts for special occasions throughout the year—singing both at church and in the community.
(Rehearsals: Sundays at 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.)
The College and Teen Choirs enjoy singing at area nursing homes and in various church services.
(Rehearsals: Various times after services)
The CBC Music Academy is a new Wednesday night ministry for our children. The program follows the school year calendar, with breaks each summer and winter. Children ages 3-12 are encouraged to attend this dynamic program. Each week, our children build musical knowledge and skills through fun activities and lessons. Scripture songs, spiritual songs and Bible lessons are always included. The younger choir members, ages 3-5, break off and have their own lesson time. Age appropriate lessons and skill sets accomodate both the younger and the older students. Our goal is to give our young people the ability to appreciate and participate in music making and to, most importantly, realize how God's children can make music for God's glory. The children are given opportunities to sing their choir music periodically in church services.
(Rehearsals: 7:00, Wednesday evenings)
The Community Baptist Orchestra is important to every Sunday service. Their role includes everything from accompanying congregational singing, to accompanying the choir, to preparing entire programs presented by our full choir and orchestra. The full orchestra includes strings, winds, brass, and percussion—a fitting collection of musicians to offer a praise service to the Lord!
(Rehearsals: 5:30, Sunday afternoons)
